Due to construction on the Blynman Bridge, CATA must alter some morning GHS routes.  The times and stops listed below will be in effect starting Wednesday, January 7, 2026 until further notice.

CATA will be running on a regular schedule Wednesday, December 24 and Friday, December 26.  There is no CATA service on Thursday, December 25.

On August 11th, 2025, our newly revamped CATA On Demand app will be live. Users will need to download the new app to book trips. In order to confirm you have the correct version, please note the developer, Spare Labs Inc. The old On Demand app will not work as of Monday, August 11, 2025.  Links to the new app are included below.

Your existing On Demand profile should transfer to the new app automatically, just enter your phone number and follow the prompts.  Credit balances will be transferred to the new app. You will need to reenter your credit card.

 

 

The Cape Ann Transportation Authority is pleased to welcome Manchester-by-the-Sea to our member communities. CATA will begin providing senior dial-a-ride services to the Town Tuesday, August 5, 2025.  Customers need to register before booking a ride with CATA. Motif #1 Day was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 17th, but has been rescheduled to Sunday, May 18th due to weather concerns.

The Cape Ann Transportation Authority is seeking input on service standards and service policies proposed as part of the Title VI Program Update for 2025. The public is encouraged to provide feedback on the service standards and service policies. Comments can be submitted via mail, telephone, email, or in person at the public meetingService standards are available at CATA’s Administration & Operations Center and at www.canntran.com.

CATA has revised our bag & cart policy.  Details are available here. In summary, customers can bring up to 3 bags on the bus, making sure they can board/deboard in one trip and maintain control of the bags.  Customers can bring a small personal cart and the cart can remain open if it can be stowed out of the aisle. If the cart cannot be fully removed from the aisle, customers must remove the contents and fold the cart up.
